On August 9, 1992 a number of the descendants of the founders of the Heart Prairie Methodist Episcopal Church, friends, and neighbors gathered together to dedicate a historical plaque commemorating the establishment of the church. Convening at the church and cemetery grounds, the group conducted a simple program that included the recognition of the founding congregation from 1851-53.
