Georgia Kestol-Bauer manages the East Richmond Cemetery and the restoration of the Heart Prairie Norwegian American Methodist-Episcopal Church, which was built in the early 1850’s . Since 2007 she and volunteers have been actively engaged in the restoration of the church.
I finally found the card you gave me about two years ago. What a blessing. My name is Pastor Butch Olsen and I grew up in McHenry,Illinois and went to school at Wisconsin, Whitewater. I would always take the back road highways south instead of RT. 12. One day many years ago I discovered the church and cemetery and I since visited every year since, while on vacation.
I am now serving Faithful Savior Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon.
Blessings on who maintain it. Pastor Butch Olsen

I am descended from some of the Norwegian settlers who helped establish the church but I live in Texas. I would love to have some more information about them and about what their lives were like at that time. My name is Michele Miller McCall. My father’s name was LeRoy M. Miller, Jr., my grandfather’s name was LeRoy M. Miller, Sr., my great grandmother’s name was Eva O. Johnson Miller and my great, great grandparents were Christian Jorgensen and Caroline Steenson. I hope to hear from you.

Hello Michele,
It is nice to meet a new relative! Your great-great-great-grandparents and my great-great-grandparents are the same. Steenson.
Caroline and my great-grandmother Anna were sisters. I do have some information about them and also pictures. I would be happy to send copies to you. I do know some descendants of Christian and Caroline. One of them spends winters in Texas!
